Erhürman: "The State has Become the User of a Vehicle Proven to be Stolen by Official Documents"
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Chairman Tufan Erhürman, speaking in Parliament, stated, "The state has become the user of a vehicle proven to be stolen by official documents." Erhürman pointed out that the TRNC state is starting to use a known stolen property as an RHA (official service vehicle).
Erhürman emphasized that the vehicles in question were identified as stolen by British authorities. He mentioned that a system has been established for future vehicles, and Finance Minister Özdemir Berova stated that this system would prevent further issues.
Regarding the 61 vehicles identified as stolen, financed, or cloned, Erhürman said, "The identification of these 61 vehicles emerged from consultations between our authorities and British authorities. The British authorities officially informed our authorities that these 61 vehicles were stolen, cloned, or financed, and therefore their presence here is not legal."
Erhürman noted that since there was no request for 27 of the 61 vehicles, they were transferred to the State Property and Material Department, and some of these vehicles were even used as RHAs. He stressed that if a stolen vehicle was imported by an importer, a legal process must be initiated to investigate whether the importer knowingly committed the crime.
Erhürman highlighted that using a known stolen vehicle is a crime and that the court would prove the situation. He pointed out that the process is not yet complete, but the TRNC state is using a known stolen property as an RHA. "This is the situation," he said.
"The Vehicles Were Identified as Stolen by British Authorities"
Erhürman questioned the legal basis for using these vehicles and emphasized that none of the identified articles allow the state to use a stolen vehicle. He reiterated that the vehicles were identified as stolen by British authorities and that the state is using a vehicle officially declared stolen by British authorities.
Erhürman stated, "There is no defense for any part of this situation. The state is using property proven to be stolen by official documents." He emphasized that the real reputation lies in preventing stolen property from entering the country and mentioned rumors of money laundering within these issues. Erhürman concluded by stating that the state has committed a crime and that the situation must be rectified immediately. He stressed that the state does not have the authority to transfer stolen property to the State Property and Material Department and that if an individual imported stolen property, an investigation must be initiated against that individual.
