Five Arrested for Illegal Drug Possession in Nicosia and Güneşköy

In Nicosia, the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate teams conducted a search at the home of M.G. (32), where they found a rolled cigarette containing a substance believed to be synthetic cannabinoid mixed with tobacco. The individual in question was arrested.

Suspicious Behavior Led to Arrests

In Güneşköy, around 17:00, police were conducting a traffic check when they stopped a vehicle driven by K.O. (19) for speeding. During the traffic stop, passenger E.O. (19) exhibited suspicious behavior, prompting a search of the vehicle, the individuals, and the other passengers.

During the search, approximately 1 gram of a substance believed to be cannabis and a grinder were found in E.O.'s possession, while another grinder containing drug residue was found in the possession of another passenger, N.B. (18). K.O., E.O., N.B., and another passenger F.O. (19) were arrested.

The police investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
