Akyol, who was in prison for drug-related offenses, was found guilty of possessing a total of 3,166 grams of methamphetamine, 2,933 grams of raw opium, and 750 grams of heroin through his girlfriend. He was convicted on seven counts of heroin trafficking.

The court, presided over by Chief Judge Fadıl Aksun, Senior Judge Şerife Katip, and Judge Murat Soytaç, unanimously delivered the verdict. Chief Judge Aksun stated that the three types of drugs in Akyol's possession were in large quantities and highly dangerous.

Aksun noted that the drugs caused both physical and mental harm. He explained that Akyol, who was in prison for drug offenses, obtained the drugs through his girlfriend, with whom he communicated via phone using coded language due to phone monitoring in the prison.

Aksun emphasized that Akyol organized the crime from prison, giving instructions over the phone. The court considered Akyol's commission of another crime while in prison for rehabilitation as an aggravating factor.

Chief Judge Aksun highlighted that Deniz was sentenced to 13 years in prison but noted that Akyol played a primary role in organizing and managing the crime, committing more severe offenses than Deniz. He also addressed the negative impact of drug crimes on society and youth, leading to Akyol's 16-year prison sentence.
