Greek Cypriots Make 73% of Their Payments with Credit Cards
According to data published by the European Central Bank and reported by Politis, Greek Cypriots make 73% of all their payments using credit cards. This figure is 0.8% higher than the same period in 2023.
The ECB's data, released yesterday, shows that in the first half of 2024, payments made with cards accounted for 73% of all non-cash payments.
Credit transfers, which constitute 15.7% of total transactions, increased by 0.5% in the first half of 2024. Automated payments decreased by 0.9% to 4.4%, while payments made with electronic bank cards increased by 0.7% to 3.7%.
