Turkish Inflation slows to 42.1 Percent in January
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures for January 2025. According to the data, the index increased by 5.03% compared to the previous month, 5.03% compared to December 2024, 42.12% compared to January 2024, and 56.35% compared to the twelve-month average.
The transportation group saw the lowest increase at 23.14% compared to the same month of the previous year, while the education group experienced the highest increase at 99.93%.
In January 2025, the clothing and footwear group saw a decrease of 5.17% compared to the previous month. On the other hand, the health group saw the highest increase at 23.57% compared to the previous month.
When unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold are excluded, the CPI increased by 5.47% compared to the previous month, 5.47% compared to December 2024, 42.08% compared to January 2024, and 56.05% compared to the twelve-month average.
