Speaking at the General Assembly of the Republic Parliament, Şahali criticized the government, arguing that laws related to the cost of living and tax bases have not been implemented, and that minimum wage earners are being crushed under the burden of the economic crisis.

Şahali began his speech on "The Issue of Minimum Wage" by noting that there was no one to respond to his questions. He argued that the human factor is not taken into account when determining the minimum wage and read the legal definition of the minimum wage.

He explained that the legal definition includes the phrase "at a level that can meet current prices," and stated that the cost of living is composed of the combination of current prices. Şahali pointed out that laws related to the cost of living and tax bases have not been enacted, and therefore, a decree with the force of law was issued.

Şahali emphasized that the economic crisis has the most negative impact on minimum wage earners. He noted that last year, the cost of living was reflected three times, and it was stated that this practice would apply to the minimum wage. However, while the cost of living was reflected in the minimum wage in April and August, it was not reflected in the latest minimum wage.

Şahali also claimed that a "racist approach" was exhibited regarding salary support. He criticized the government for not prioritizing the human factor and for damaging the legal infrastructure.

Şahali argued that businesses are maintaining their financial status through price increases, while minimum wage earners are being "condemned to poverty" due to the insufficient minimum wage in the face of the cost of living.
