Barış Sel's Hearing Postponed to February 12th
The first investigation hearing for Barış Sel, who is on trial without detention in the "fake diploma" investigation initiated at the Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTÜ), has been postponed to February 12th due to his medical report following surgery.
During today's hearing, presided over by Güzelyurt District Court President Nüvit Gazi Hacı, Prosecutor Damla Güçlü represented the prosecution, while lawyers Dilay Zeki and Mustafa Uluğ represented the defense. Defense attorney Mustafa Uluğ requested the postponement of the hearing due to Sel's medical condition, which was not opposed by the prosecution. The court ordered the postponement of the "indictment and first investigation hearing" to February 12th.
Additionally, Serdal Gündüz, the university's general secretary and shareholder, also appeared in court as part of the investigation. Gündüz, along with other defendants, will be tried in all hearings related to the fake diploma case.
