Tosunoğlu Supports Tüfekçi; Calls Accusations Unjust and Baseless
Independent Member of Parliament Hasan Tosunoğlu expressed his support for Hüseyin Tüfekçi, who was arrested in connection with allegations of irregularities in the Central Bank tender.
Tosunoğlu addressed the investigation on his social media, criticizing the arrest of Tüfekçi, Director of Tüfekçi Construction, and emphasized the importance of protecting public resources while ensuring that businesspeople are not unfairly targeted.
In his statement, Tosunoğlu highlighted the necessity of using public resources effectively and applying laws diligently. "One of our greatest responsibilities is not to squander our country's resources. It is essential to protect every penny of public resources while serving the public," he stated. Tosunoğlu argued that the effort to find faults in legally conducted transactions is concerning and called the accusations against Hüseyin Tüfekçi, whom he described as a significant figure in the construction sector, "unjust and baseless."
Tosunoğlu stressed that there should be no victimization during the investigation process. "Of course, the final say will belong to the judiciary, but it must be remembered that those who initiate this process will bear the responsibility for any victimization that occurs until that day," he added. He also voiced concerns about whether the process was an attempt to cancel the Central Bank tender.
Extending his well wishes to Hüseyin Tüfekçi, with whom he has competed in business, Tosunoğlu expressed hope that the process would be conducted fairly, as he is one of the individuals who best understands the difficulties of conducting business.
