In his message on the second anniversary of the February 6 earthquake, Ataoğlu reiterated that they will never forget the Champion Angels and their struggle for justice will persist.

According to information from DP, Ataoğlu stated in his message, "The pain of February 6 is in our hearts":

“Our Champion Angels… Our bright children, the pride of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus… They went to Adıyaman, Turkey, following a dream with the unifying power of sports. However, unfortunately, they were trapped under the rubble of the İsias Hotel on that dark night. Their eyes were always filled with victory, their joy with hope. Now, their names are etched in our hearts. We will never forget them, we will never allow them to be forgotten. Our fight for justice will continue, their voices will echo forever!

I remember everyone who lost their lives in this great disaster with respect and mercy. With the hope that we will never experience the same pain again, we will look to the future with hope, by coming together and supporting each other. Because we are a big family…”
