Sertoğlu criticized the club president’s actions, questioning, "What does this mean? It is inconceivable for a president to take a young footballer to a casino." He also pointed out that the young footballer's parents were equally at fault, stressing that parents should provide better discipline for their children.
During a press conference, Sertoğlu made additional remarks on various football-related issues.
"Urgent Action Needed for Sports Violence Law"
Sertoğlu emphasized the necessity of urgently passing a Sports Violence Law, explaining that the federation would swiftly set up a committee for this purpose. He warned that without such a law, the police would be unable to intervene effectively.
“We either solve these issues together, or our football will collapse just like our country," Sertoğlu stated, stressing the importance of collective action.
He also mentioned ongoing criticisms from certain individuals, pointing out that many of them were heavily involved in match-fixing. Sertoğlu defiantly stated, "Those who have money think they can clean me up, but they failed. Not even the king could clean me up, who are you?"
Disciplinary Committee Awaits Report on Match-Fixing Investigation
On the subject of the match-fixing investigation, Sertoğlu discussed the postponement of the Miracle Değirmenlik-Esentepe match due to match-fixing allegations. He explained that an investigation was initiated following Esentepe Sports Club’s complaints.
Sertoğlu confirmed that the Match-Fixing Investigation Committee is still gathering testimonies and that the Disciplinary Committee will make a decision after reviewing the final report.
"As the KTFF President, there is nothing more I can do at this stage," he remarked, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations and the actions taken by the federation.
KTFF Ends Broadcasting Agreement with Clubs
Sertoğlu, who has served as KTFF President for 15 years, noted that he is facing opposition from many clubs, particularly regarding the broadcasting of matches. Despite a good relationship with the broadcasting company, the KTFF decided to terminate the contract for the clubs.
He added that live match broadcasts would continue through BRTK, and in the future, a broadcasting vehicle would be necessary for matches.
