Speaking on Kıbrıs Postası TV’s "Gündem" program with Ulaş Barış, Aktolgalı pointed out that multiple institutions share responsibility for the issue. He admitted that even the total number of donkeys remains unknown, highlighting the need for collaboration between agencies such as the Veterinary Department, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, and the Ministry of Transport.

"This should not be portrayed as solely the Environmental Protection Agency’s issue," said Aktolgalı. He stated that significant steps had been taken, including the construction of enclosures to house approximately 350 donkeys in a fenced area within the limits of their budget.

A cooperation protocol was signed in 2023 to address the growing donkey population, and efforts have been ongoing. Aktolgalı estimated that the problem could be resolved within 6–8 years and emphasized the importance of keeping the public informed.

He also underscored the need for careful handling of donkeys and the preservation of grazing areas in the region.
