Minimum Wage Lawsuit Postponed to February 24

The lawsuit filed by the Hür-İş Union, arguing that the minimum wage was set below the cost of living in violation of the law, has been postponed to Monday, February 24.

According to information obtained by TAK from lawyer Şefik Aşçıoğulları, the case will be heard next Monday.
The Hür-İş Federation of Trade Unions had taken legal action against the 7.5% increase in the minimum wage, claiming it was set below the cost of living, which they argue is in violation of the law. The first hearing took place last week.
Hür-İş President Ahmet Serdaroğlu stated, "Those in power have restricted the legal rights of those living on the minimum wage. The cost of living allowance is clearly stated in the law, and its non-payment is unlawful. We will fight against this illegal decision to the very end."
