10 Fires in the Last Week
The Fire Department announced that 10 fires and 11 special service incidents occurred nationwide last week. According to a report from the Fire Department covering February 10-16, 2025, the total damage caused by these fires amounted to 929,000 Turkish Lira.
The probable causes of the fires were listed as "electrical short circuits, fuel leakage from a vehicle's engine compartment igniting after coming into contact with hot components, a forgotten candle setting a tablecloth on fire, gas leaks, coal discarded into a trash bin reigniting the bin, an active electric heater near a bed setting a blanket on fire, and out-of-control fires started for cleaning purposes."
The special service incidents included "rescuing people trapped in elevators, natural disasters, fire safety measures, fire training, and the transportation of deceased individuals for forensic investigations."
