Temperatures to Drop by 8 Degrees from Thursday

A significant cold wave is set to hit the region, with temperatures expected to plummet by 8 degrees starting Thursday, according to meteorological reports. Rain, fog, and frost are expected from tomorrow, with a mix of rain and snow or full snowfall anticipated over the weekend. Strong winds will also accompany the cold front.

As a Siberian cold wave moves into Turkey, the Meteorological Department in Northern Cyprus has also warned of a sharp drop in temperatures by the end of the week.

Weather Forecast for February 18-24

The region will generally be under a low-pressure system, experiencing cold and humid conditions at the beginning of the week and much colder, humid air from Thursday onward.

  • Tuesday & Wednesday: Partly cloudy with occasional showers or thunderstorms, along with morning fog in some areas.
  • Thursday: A significant drop in temperatures by 8 degrees, with rain expected until noon.
  • Friday: Morning frost in some areas.
  • Saturday & Sunday: Rain expected, with occasional sleet or snowfall, and morning frost.
  • Monday: Partly cloudy conditions.

The highest temperatures will range between 16-19°C at the start of the week but will drop to 8-11°C toward the weekend.

Strong Winds Expected

Winds will initially blow from the south and east at moderate strength, but from Thursday onward, they will shift to the north and west, reaching strong to stormy levels at times.
