Karakaya Slams Court Ruling: "You Are Rewarding Murderers"
Ruşen Karakaya, president of the Champion Angels Survival Association has strongly condemned the court ruling in the case of the Ebrar Site B Block collapse in Kahramanmaraş, where 115 people lost their lives.
Karakaya criticized the 18-year prison sentences given to defendants Tevfik Tepebaşı and Atilla Öz, stating, "You refuse to issue a ruling of willful negligence; you are rewarding these murderers."
Karakaya, who lost her daughter Selin Sarıkaya in the February 6 earthquake, attended the final hearing and expressed her outrage over the verdict.
"Injustice and Corruption Continue"
Sharing her reaction on social media, Karakaya accused authorities of enabling profit-driven construction practices at the cost of human lives. "Once again, you are paving the way for them to build as they please through irregularities, immorality, and greed," she wrote.
She further decried the perceived lack of justice, stating, "Your injustice is never-ending, your schemes never cease. Do the lives of innocent children mean nothing to you? Enough is enough!"
