Öztürkler: Preparations for New Parliamentary Complex Progressing Rapidly

In a written statement, Öztürkler emphasized that the building is essentially complete, but technical adjustments are still being made. "The building is finished, and we are reviewing technical needs. A technical team has been established to address systems in the General Assembly and committee rooms, and they are actively working," he stated.

Speaking on the "Objektif" program hosted by Erçin Şahmaran on Kıbrıs Postası, Öztürkler addressed past quorum issues in the Assembly. He stressed the need for a committee to revise the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure to align with current conditions.

Animal Rights and Legal Deterrence

Öztürkler highlighted the importance of deterrent laws for animal rights, stating:
"Harming an animal goes against our moral values. Legal deterrence is essential, but it is not enough on its own. Education is also crucial. Children must be taught compassion for animals from an early age."

Infrastructure and Social Housing

Discussing road lighting, he emphasized the need for authorities to collaborate effectively to find practical solutions.

On the housing law, Öztürkler noted that amendments were made six to seven months ago. He stressed the necessity for the state to initiate social housing projects:
"We need to address the housing needs of TRNC citizens. The government can meet this demand by building social housing and providing long-term loans."

Election and Referendum Law Revisions

Öztürkler also called for updates to the Election and Referendum Law, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive and serious legislative effort.
