AK Party’s 8th Ordinary Grand Congress: Emphasis on Turkey-TRNC Cooperation

The congress, held at Ankara Sports Hall with great enthusiasm, was attended by Turkish President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as party members from all over Turkey who gathered early in the morning.

Alongside high-ranking Turkish officials, key figures from the TRNC were also present. President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı participated in the congress as invited guests.

TURKEY-TRNC SOLIDARITY IN THE SPOTLIGHT

During his speech, President Erdoğan outlined Turkey’s policies and the AK Party’s vision for the future while reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to supporting the TRNC on the international stage. “We will continue to defend the rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on every platform. The Turkish Cypriot people will never be alone,” Erdoğan stated.

SUPPORT MESSAGES FROM THE TRNC DELEGATION

As part of the congress, President Ersin Tatar held various meetings and emphasized the strengthening cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC. “The support of our motherland, Turkey, is of vital importance to us. As the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we will continue to walk hand in hand with Turkey,” Tatar said.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel highlighted the significance of economic and infrastructure projects between Turkey and the TRNC. “Thanks to Turkey’s support, numerous projects are being implemented in the TRNC. This strong partnership secures the future of the Turkish Cypriot people,” Üstel noted.

Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı also held meetings during the congress, discussing ways to further enhance cooperation for the TRNC’s development.

A NEW ERA IN TURKEY-TRNC RELATIONS

The participation of top TRNC officials in the AK Party congress was seen as a reaffirmation of the strong political and economic ties between the two nations. In Ankara’s political circles, it was remarked that the congress once again underscored Turkey’s unwavering support for the TRNC and the special relationship between the two countries.
