Two Injured, One Arrested, and One Vehicle Burned in Traffic Accidents

Traffic accidents across the country yesterday resulted in two injuries, one arrest, and a vehicle catching fire.

According to the police report, in Nicosia, Emir Uyanık (27) was driving a saloon car with license plate MG 686 under the influence of 70 milligrams of alcohol when he attempted a reckless U-turn at the Ortaköy traffic lights. This maneuver obstructed the path of Hudayberdy Rozyyev (27), who was riding a motorcycle with license plate RH 241 in the right lane, resulting in a collision.

Rozyyev was taken to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where he was treated and discharged. Uyanık was arrested for driving under the influence and causing an accident. The investigation is ongoing.

Drunk Driver Crashes into Streetlight

Also in Nicosia, İbrahim Sular (28) was driving a saloon car with license plate VP 467 on Bedrettin Demirel Street under the influence of 51 milligrams of alcohol when he lost control and crashed into a streetlight on the central median near Rapa Ltd. There were no injuries. Legal proceedings have been initiated against Sular for driving under the influence and causing an accident.

Car Catches Fire After Fuel Leak

On the Ercan-Gaziköy main road, Yaşar Koşar (57) lost control of his saloon car with license plate PH 872 near Alpet Petrol Station at the entrance of Gaziköy. The vehicle crashed into a roadside concrete bridge. Although no one was injured, a fuel leak caused by the impact ignited after coming into contact with hot engine parts, setting the car on fire. The flames were extinguished by firefighters, but the vehicle was completely burned. The investigation continues.

Car Plunges Three Meters After Losing Control

On the Tatlısu-Geçitkale main road, near the winding curves, Ramadan Öke (35) lost control of his saloon car with license plate SC 551 while heading toward Geçitkale. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road and plunged approximately three meters before landing on its wheels. Öke was taken to Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where he remains under observation.

Vehicle Overturns After Hitting Concrete Barriers

On the Nicosia-Famagusta highway, Ramazan Edis (53) lost control of his saloon car with license plate HL 146 near Asal Auto Gallery. The car crashed into concrete barriers in the central median, overturned, and landed on its roof. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
