Renowned Artist Edip Akbayram Passes Away at 75
Celebrated musician Edip Akbayram has passed away at the age of 75 while receiving treatment at a hospital.
In a statement on social media, Istanbul Provincial Health Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Emre Güner announced that Akbayram, who had been undergoing treatment for nearly two months at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all medical interventions.
"Our medical teams provided him with the highest level of care and treatment, but unfortunately, he could not be saved despite all efforts. May he rest in peace. I extend my condolences to his family, loved ones, and the art community," Güner stated.
Akbayram was hospitalized at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital on January 9 due to suspected internal bleeding following a fall from his bed. He underwent surgery on January 10.
