Maviş stated that recent retirements and field changes have led to severe teacher shortages in many schools, particularly in preschools and special education institutions. He emphasized that these gaps pose significant risks for early childhood education and students with special needs.

Due to the lack of teachers, class sizes have increased, some lessons have been combined, and overall education quality has declined. Maviş described the situation as unacceptable and criticized the lack of planning.

The following schools are experiencing teacher shortages:

  • Ziyamet Primary School
  • İskele Maarif Preschool
  • Ağırdağ-Dağyolu Primary School
  • Şehit Mehmet Eray Primary School
  • Fazıl Plümer Preschool
  • Gülenyüzler Preschool
  • 23 Nisan Primary School
  • Dr. Fazıl Küçük-Hamitköy Primary School
  • Mehmet Çağatay Primary School
  • Famagusta Special Education Center

Maviş stressed that this recurring issue is both foreseeable and preventable, yet authorities have failed to take necessary measures. He accused the government of mismanagement and a lack of planning in education, stating that children ultimately bear the consequences. He called on the Ministry of National Education to urgently fill the vacancies.
