Christodoulides will be joined by Negotiator Menelaos Menelaou, Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, Attorney General Giorgos Savvides, and three legal experts assisting Savvides.

According to Haravgi, Guterres’ letter emphasized that the meeting aims to facilitate a substantive exchange of views on advancing the Cyprus issue. The informal discussions will commence with a dinner on the evening of March 17, followed by bilateral meetings on the morning of March 18. A plenary session involving all parties will then take place at the UN’s Palais des Nations. The full schedule is expected to be announced later.

Fileleftheros reported that the conference's primary goal is to determine how negotiations on the Cyprus issue can move forward. The newspaper, citing its sources, stated that after Guterres’ dinner with the two leaders and guarantor states, bilateral meetings will be held on March 18, followed by a joint session with all parties.

Guterres has reiterated the UN’s commitment to facilitating progress and expressed hope that the meeting will generate positive momentum for resuming negotiations.

Three-Phase Discussion

According to reports, the informal conference will be structured in three phases. The first phase will involve a dinner hosted by Guterres on March 17, bringing together both leaders and representatives of the guarantor powers. The second phase will consist of separate bilateral meetings between Guterres, President Ersin Tatar, Christodoulides, and the guarantor representatives. Finally, a 5+1 format meeting will be held under the UN Secretary-General’s leadership.

Politis described the conference as a critical opportunity to gauge the true intentions of all involved parties, emphasizing that the outcome could set the course for the Cyprus issue moving forward.

Christodoulides' Accompanying Delegation

In addition to Negotiator Menelaou, Christodoulides' team will include Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, Attorney General Giorgos Savvides, and three legal experts: Achilles Emilianides, Levon Arakelian, and political scientist Vasilis Protopapas.
