Mother Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for Attempted Murder of His Son

The Nicosia High Criminal Court has delivered its verdict on Nadir Yılmaç, who attempted to murder his 9-year-old son. The court, led by President Füsun Cemaller, with Senior Judge Vedia Berkut Barkın and Judge Tutku Candaş, unanimously sentenced the defendant to 25 years in prison.

President Cemaller emphasized that no tolerance would be shown towards such heinous crimes, underlining the gravity of Yılmaç's offense against his own child.
"I Killed My Son" Text Message Sent
The court's ruling noted that after attempting to strangle his son, Yılmaç sent a message to his wife saying, "I killed my son." The defendant’s cold demeanor and premeditated actions were considered aggravating factors in the case.
