Speaking on Ada TV’s Günaydın Ada program hosted by Nupelda Karabuğday, Arıklı signaled his party's potential support for Tatar under specific conditions.

"We will not support UBP’s candidate in the first round. If Ersin Tatar decides to run as an independent, YDP will reconsider its decision to field a candidate and may support him instead. We do not know why UBP has not yet announced Tatar as its candidate, nor is it our concern. We will finalize our candidate selection process in April. If Ersin Tatar decides to run as an independent, then YDP may support him instead of nominating its own candidate," Arıklı stated.

He also suggested that an early general election could be on the agenda following the presidential elections and addressed the possibility of forming a coalition with the Republican Turkish Party (CTP).

"Our ideological differences with CTP are mainly related to the Cyprus issue. We agree on many other matters. If circumstances allow and a coalition becomes necessary, we would consider forming one with CTP. Our differences would not pose an obstacle," Arıklı remarked.
