Parliament Receives Prosecutor's Report on UBP MP's Diploma Investigation

Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler, has confirmed that the investigation file prepared by the Attorney General’s Office regarding the diploma of a UBP MP was delivered to Parliament yesterday morning. He stated that the process will proceed in accordance with parliamentary rules.

Speaking via live phone connection on BRT’s “18th Hour” program, Öztürkler said he received the file around 10:00 a.m. and that all MPs had been informed through an official memorandum.
According to parliamentary procedure, a special committee must be established to handle such cases. Öztürkler explained that the Advisory Board and the Presidency Council would convene first to form the committee and determine party representation.
“The Advisory Board and the Presidency Council will be called to a meeting with the agenda of establishing the relevant committee,” he stated, emphasizing that the committee will be set up promptly and necessary actions will be taken.
