Butchers' Union Announces 10% Discount on Meat Products for Ramadan

Following the decision by the Dairy Producers Union (SÜİB) to apply a 10% discount on dairy products, the Butchers' Union has also announced a discount on meat and meat products.

Raşit Şenkaya, President of the Butchers' Union, pointed out the economic pressures faced by butchers and consumers and stated that a 10% discount would be applied to meat and meat products for the month of Ramadan.
Şenkaya emphasized that businesses are struggling to stay afloat while also aiming to make basic food items more affordable for consumers. "Everyone knows the situation," he said, referring to the ongoing economic challenges.
The rising input costs in recent years have significantly impacted production costs, which in turn have reflected in consumer prices. Şenkaya stated, “The economy is going through a very difficult period. Inflation and high prices have become a harsh reality that none of us like. This is putting increasing pressure on us as butchers. We are in a situation where consumers have forgotten the butcher’s shop. Therefore, we took steps to do our part.”
Ramadan, a time for solidarity and helping others, has been a key factor in the decision to offer discounts. "During Ramadan, particularly with the challenges people face in accessing basic food products like meat, we decided to apply a 10% discount on beef and beef products, including ground beef, cubed beef, and other cuts. With this discount, we aim to provide the public with high-quality meat at more affordable prices," Şenkaya said.
Şenkaya also noted that butchers within the union would be happy to offer even greater discounts, though he cautioned that the current economic conditions and rising costs may limit their ability to do so further. "All our butchers are working hard to offer meat at lower prices. However, given the rising costs, it is becoming increasingly difficult to apply further discounts," he said.
Finally, Şenkaya highlighted the importance of unity during these tough economic times, urging all sectors of society to work together. “We must all get through this period together. Both producers and consumers should support one another. As the Butchers' Union, we will continue to serve our consumers, but we also remind the public to consider the difficulties of this process,” he concluded.
The Butchers' Union's 10% discount during Ramadan marks a significant step in solidarity between businesses and consumers.
