Eight Fires Reported in the Past Week

Over the past week, a total of eight fires and 25 special service incidents were recorded across the country, according to a report released by the Fire Department covering the period from March 3 to March 9.

The report revealed that the fires caused an estimated 5,396,500 TL in damages. The main causes of the incidents included electrical short circuits, embers discarded from a fireplace without being properly extinguished, sparks from touching power lines igniting dry grass, fires started intentionally for cleaning purposes, and fuel leaking from a vehicle’s engine compartment coming into contact with hot components.

In addition to fires, the Fire Department also responded to various special service incidents, including rescuing individuals trapped in vehicles after traffic accidents, rescuing cats stuck in trees or on balconies, ensuring road safety, implementing fire precautions, conducting fire safety training, and facilitating the transfer of deceased individuals to hospitals for forensic investigations.
