Euro Surpasses 40 TL, Setting a New Record

For the first time, the euro has exceeded 40 TL, marking a new record. Since the beginning of 2025, the euro has risen by 9.3% against the Turkish lira. As of 16:44 (TSI), the EUR/TRY exchange rate stood at 40.01.

This record high follows an upward trend in the euro-dollar exchange rate. Concerns over a potential recession in the United States have intensified, particularly due to former President Donald Trump's economic policies, including additional tariffs. As a result, the euro-dollar pair climbed to 1.09 for the first time since November.
Overall, the euro has gained 5.8% against the dollar in 2024, while the EUR/TRY exchange rate has surged by 9.3% over the same period.
