Special Representative Onar Speaks with DiCarlo Ahead of Geneva Meeting
Güneş Onar, Special Representative of the President, held a telephone conversation with Rosemary DiCarlo, the United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.
During the discussion, preparations for the expanded informal meeting set to take place in Geneva on March 17-18 were reviewed. It was noted that both sides engaged in an open and constructive exchange of views regarding the agenda and direction of the upcoming summit.
The high-level informal meeting, to be hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Geneva, Switzerland, will bring together President Ersin Tatar, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, and the foreign ministers of the guarantor countries, Türkiye and Greece. Additionally, the United Kingdom will be represented at the ministerial level.
