Police officers who testified in court said that on the night of the incident, Zehie Helin Reessur had stated that Sefer Buğra Altundağ had hit her while she was talking to her boyfriend on the phone, and that she later could not reach her boyfriend on the phone and he went to the police to file a complaint. Özçürümez, who testified under oath in court, stated that they visited the victim's house upon receiving the complaint but found no one at home.

Özçürümez also told the court that a black LM 560 plated vehicle with its engine running was found at 07:15 on the road to Derinya Border Gate in Famagusta, and that there were bloodstains on the seats inside the vehicle, and some clothes inside the vehicle had been attempted to be destroyed by burning.
Özçürümez said that upon learning of the discovery of a girl's body in İskele, he thought that the developments could be related to the incident and informed Deputy Inspector Erdim Kara.
The court announced that the trial has been adjourned to September 5th at 09:30.
