Criticizing Mr. Tatar's remarks regarding the events in higher education and invalid diplomas, Erhürman remarked, "In such a sensitive area, everyone in this country should be mindful of what they say."

Speaking in the Parliament, Erhürman addressed issues related to the Cyprus problem, transportation, higher education, and the statistics institution. He argued that the terms used by Mr. Tatar lacked substance and emphasized that the will of the Turkish Cypriot people could not be represented in this way. Referring to a definitive statement made in the committee regarding the statistics institution, Erhürman pointed out that "mistakes in calculating the cost of living have been revealed as a concrete fact."

Reminding of the visit of the UN Secretary-General's Personal Representative, María Ángela Holguín, Erhürman stated that Holguín had not only met with community leaders but also with political parties and civil society organizations. He highlighted that after these meetings, Mr. Tatar made some statements, indicating a lack of understanding between Mr. Tatar and Ms. Holguín. Erhürman referred to examples from the Presidency's website, stating, "What Mr. Tatar says contradicts itself." He questioned whether the new policy referred to by Mr. Tatar was based on equal sovereignty or equal international status.

Erhürman stressed that even these two terms were not clarified, and without clarification, it was impossible for Ms. Holguín to understand. He criticized the fact that Mr. Tatar's policies never aligned with those of the late President Rauf Denktaş but stressed that they could always understand what Denktaş meant. However, Erhürman pointed out that they could not understand what was being said now. He questioned whether the goal was to equalize the situation and whether Mr. Tatar wanted to sit at the negotiating table without recognizing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Erhürman stated that in such circumstances, it was impossible to take Mr. Tatar seriously, as there was a loss of seriousness in the matter. He underlined that equality in a federal state would be achieved through political equality. He reaffirmed that political equality would not be a bargaining issue and emphasized that the will of the Turkish Cypriot people was towards a solution. Erhürman recalled the 1999 Helsinki Summit and questioned whether Mr. Tatar assumed that Ms. Holguín was unaware of it.

He criticized the sidelining of the Turkish Cypriot people and stated that it was not about representing them but about removing them as subjects. Erhürman concluded by stating that under these circumstances, Mr. Tatar's credibility was questionable.
