Shirin Mehdi Hosseinabad, who was detected in Istanbul shortly after leaving the country with a fake Portuguese passport, has been arrested and brought before the court.

Police officer Ozan Kuşak, stationed at the Demirhan Police Station, stated that the suspect was arrested for "impersonation and obtaining registration by false pretenses."

The police stated that the suspect exited the country with Portuguese passports issued in the name of Iara Sofıa Dıas Amaral, which he obtained from an unknown male individual for 10,000 Euros, with the intention of going to Belgium at Ercan Airport on April 30, 2024, around 02:55. The police mentioned that the suspect was detected by immigration police at Istanbul Airport while traveling to Turkey. The police further stated that the Istanbul police returned the suspect to the country around 17:30 on the same day.

The police officer mentioned that the passport was seized by the Istanbul police and would be sent to the country. The police requested the suspect to be detained for 2 days, stating that the investigation is ongoing.

After evaluating the testimony, Senior Judge Şerife Katip ordered the suspect to be detained for 2 days.
