Police have Reported Three Separate Accidents

Police have reported three separate accidents in Gazimağusa, Gönyeli, and Girne.

In a written statement from the Police Press Office, it was revealed that yesterday around 9:30 am on the Lefkoşa-Gazimağusa Highway, Zeki Karahanoğlu (E-27) was driving a vehicle with license plate number UP 743 towards Gazimağusa. Allegedly under the influence of 227 milligrams of alcohol, Karahanoğlu lost control of the vehicle due to negligence, veering off the right side of the road near Hala Sultan Mosque. The vehicle crossed the median and collided with a truck, DC 804, driven by Mustafa Okduman (E-63) in the opposite direction. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Karahanoğlu was arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.

Additionally, in Gönyeli around 4:00 pm yesterday, another accident occurred. Resul Sola (E-40) was allegedly driving under the influence of 309 milligrams of alcohol in a vehicle with license plate number NB 421, heading west. Due to negligence, Sola collided with a parked car with license plate number UP 838. Once again, there were no reported injuries. Sola was arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.

Lastly, in Girne around 6:00 pm yesterday, another accident took place. Ali Gökkaya (E-22) was reportedly driving a vehicle with license plate number VL 417 without a valid driver's license and under the influence of 193 milligrams of alcohol, heading west on Uğur Mumcu Boulevard. Due to negligence, Gökkaya rear-ended a vehicle with license plate number UL 389 driven by Niyazi Sertel (E-41), which had stopped due to traffic ahead. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Gökkaya was arrested, and an investigation is ongoing.
