Turkey's 4-Day Holiday Traffic Report: 26 Dead, 5,345 Injured
In Turkey, traffic accidents during the 4-day holiday resulted in 26 deaths and 5,345 injuries, as reported by the Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya. The latest update reveals that 693 traffic accidents occurred yesterday alone, causing 4 deaths and injuring 1,302 individuals.
According to the figures, the death toll over the first four days of the holiday has reached 26, with 5,345 people sustaining injuries.
Minister Yerlikaya shared the following message on his social media account:
"Throughout the holiday, our traffic police and gendarmerie are continuing their inspections 24/7. The sole purpose of these inspections is to ensure that our citizens who are traveling for the holiday return safely to their families. Please, let's avoid speeding. Remember to wear seat belts in both cars and buses. Follow traffic rules. Journeys are meant to reunite you with your loved ones, not separate you from them. Let's always keep this in mind."
