Drunk Driver Runs Red Light, Crashes into Another Car in Kyrenia
In Kyrenia last night, 43-year-old Hakan Özkaralar, under the influence of alcohol, ran a red light and crashed into another car in traffic. Legal action has been initiated against the drunk driver, and police are continuing their investigation.
At approximately 21:30 on Ecevit Street, Özkaralar, driving a FN 223 sedan while having a blood alcohol level of 124 milligrams, failed to stop at a red light due to inattentiveness. He continued north, colliding with a YE 008 sedan driven by 38-year-old Danyel Tatlıcı, who had a green light and was heading west on Semih Sancar Street.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Legal proceedings have begun against Özkaralar for driving under the influence and causing a traffic accident.
