Harmancı: Every Opened Door Brings a Ray of Hope for Us
Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) Mayor Mehmet Harmancı emphasized the significance of dialogue following the informal dinner hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides.
In a social media post after the event, Harmancı highlighted the importance of new crossing points for Nicosia, stating that "every door opened brings a ray of hope for us."
Harmancı pointed out the need for dialogue, noting, "Opening a door requires dialogue, and even a small opening is significant." He stressed that addressing the heavy traffic at existing crossing points in the capital is crucial and that new crossing points could ease this burden.
Expressing optimism for positive progress in the dialogue process, Harmancı added, "We will increase our proactive stance. There is a possibility for all parties to move towards a more positive position."
