Two Traffic Accidents: Two Pedestrians Injured

Two pedestrians were injured in separate traffic accidents in Gemikonağı and Tuzla. One sustained a brain hemorrhage, and the other suffered a skull fracture.

In Gemikonağı, at around 2:00 p.m. yesterday on Ecevit Street, 19-year-old Huriye İnay, driving a YC 150-plate sedan, hit 24-year-old Rana Bedir, who was crossing the road near the Post Office. Bedir was rushed to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia, where she was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and placed under observation in intensive care. The driver, İnay, has been taken into custody as the investigation continues.

In Tuzla, another accident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Mehmet Hindiyano Street. Thirty-five-year-old Özlem Aykut, driving a PE 264-plate sedan westward, struck 13-year-old pedestrian Acibe Su İflazoğlu, who was walking on the right side of the road near a curve. İflazoğlu was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a skull fracture and placed under observation in the neurology unit. The driver, Aykut, has also been detained pending investigation.
