Minister Dinçyürek: We Are Increasing Health's Share in the Budget

Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek addressed criticisms and questions regarding the Health Ministry's budget, emphasizing that they have increased the share allocated to health.

In response to concerns about the budget being insufficient, Dinçyürek confirmed that more funds have been directed towards health. He also provided details on staffing, stating that the recruitment process for new health personnel has begun, with plans to hire 50 new nurses.

On hospital-related criticisms, Dinçyürek acknowledged the challenges posed by rising costs in the tendering process and highlighted the issues this has caused. He also discussed the ongoing renovations at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, providing updates on the progress.

Regarding the delay in the completion of the new Girne Hospital, Dinçyürek explained that there were several technical reasons behind the delay but expressed confidence that the building would be completed by the end of March.

Minister Dinçyürek also shared significant developments in medical equipment, stating that the Ministry has acquired a range of advanced technological devices for hospitals. He provided figures on the state's intensive care bed capacity, which has increased from 68 to 83, with plans to reach 114.

He addressed questions about various health facilities, including Güzelyurt, Gazimağusa, and Cengiz Topel Hospitals, as well as the Lapta Health Center and the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment and Research Center (AMATEM). Dinçyürek provided information on the ongoing efforts to strengthen peripheral hospitals.

Furthermore, Dinçyürek announced the acquisition of 15 new ambulances and discussed updates regarding the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and related processes.
