Speeding Tops Violations: 340 Drivers Fined, 24 Vehicles Impounded
During traffic inspections conducted nationwide yesterday, 1,749 vehicles were checked, resulting in 340 drivers being fined and 24 vehicles being impounded.
According to the Police Press Office, 137 drivers were penalized for speeding. The reported violations included:
- 137 for speeding,
- 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol,
- 2 for driving without a license or insurance,
- 26 for using mobile phones while driving,
- 5 for not wearing seat belts,
- 34 for driving without a valid road tax certificate,
- 6 for driving uninsured vehicles,
- 1 for riding a motorcycle without a helmet,
- 126 for various other traffic offenses.
