PM Üstel: 13th Salary and Producer Payments to Be Made on December 24th and 25th
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the 13th salary payments, as well as payments for citrus and wheat producers, will be made on time. He stated that within about a week, an additional source of approximately 5.37 billion Turkish Lira would be injected into the economy, excluding regular salaries.
In a written statement, Üstel confirmed that the 13th salary payments for public employees and retirees will be made on December 24, while Social Insurance retirees will receive their 13th salary payments on December 25.
Regarding the agricultural sector, Üstel noted that payments for citrus fruits still remaining on trees will be made on December 18, and the compensation for wheat products will be paid on December 19. He emphasized that these payments would help maintain a healthy and strong economy.
Üstel added that despite external economic challenges, the government has made efforts to avoid the harm of inflation on workers and producers, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their labor and preserving their standard of living.
“We have made sure that no doubts were raised about the 13th salaries,” Üstel remarked, explaining that the government has fulfilled its commitments regarding public debts, loans, grants, and support, both in terms of amount and timing.
He also stated that the government would continue to stand by producers, ensuring that their needs are met. Üstel confirmed that the 13th salary payments would total 3.277 billion Turkish Lira for public employees and retirees, while 45,287 Social Insurance retirees would receive 1.778 billion Turkish Lira on December 25.
Regarding the citrus and wheat payments, Üstel highlighted that 619 citrus producers would receive 164.2 million Turkish Lira on December 18 for 27,416 tons of citrus fruits, while 542 wheat producers would receive 152.7 million Turkish Lira on December 19 for 14,413 tons of wheat.
In total, Üstel said the government would inject approximately 5.37 billion Turkish Lira into the economy in just one week, contributing to the continued strength and health of the economy.
He concluded by expressing satisfaction in delivering on the promises to the citizens, stating, "We are pleased to pay citizens the compensation they deserve on time and in full."
