During his meeting with TRNC President Ersin Tatar, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz expressed his gratitude for Tatar's condolences following the recent tragic accidents in Muğla and Balıkesir. He also conveyed his appreciation for the Turkish people’s solidarity with the Turkish Cypriots, sharing the same feelings of unity and support.

Yılmaz highlighted that the discussions focused on the positive outcomes of cooperation between the two countries, underlining Turkey's continued commitment to support the free development, prosperity, and well-being of the Turkish Cypriots.

He reiterated Turkey's firm support for the Turkish Cypriot side's two-state solution approach to the Cyprus issue, emphasizing that the Turkish Cypriots have been seeking justice and rights for over half a century. Yılmaz stated that the solution should be fair, permanent, and sustainable, in line with the realities of the island, and based on the belief that the two-state and two-community solution is the only viable path forward.

“The federation solution is officially closed,” Yılmaz said, referring to the recent official statement from the UN after the meeting between the Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders in New York. He underscored that the Cyprus issue must be approached according to the island’s realities, and a solution should not be based on outdated models.

Yılmaz concluded by emphasizing that the recognition of the Turkish Cypriots' sovereign equality and equal international status is a priority for Turkey, ensuring that the Turkish Cypriots will have equal representation at the negotiation table. He also stressed that efforts to integrate the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) further into the international community would continue, focusing on the security and well-being of the Turkish Cypriots.

Regarding economic and infrastructural collaboration, Yılmaz noted ongoing efforts between the two countries to develop the TRNC’s infrastructure and ensure continued growth and prosperity. He also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Republic Assembly and Presidential Complex projects, including the new park and library, which would serve as important attractions in the region.

Yılmaz concluded his remarks by thanking President Tatar for his warm hospitality during the visit.
