Akansoy: "The Solution is Early Elections"
CTP Secretary-General Asım Akansoy drew attention to the protest organized by 32 unions in front of Parliament, emphasizing that if the political system fails to address the public's issues, re-establishing the people's will becomes unavoidable. "The solution is early elections!" he declared.
In a statement shared on social media, Akansoy underlined that the cost-of-living allowance is not a salary increase but a right that reflects inflation. He criticized the government for creating a tangled web of economic problems, warning that if it does not resign soon, the country will face even more severe challenges in the coming months.
Akansoy noted that the bleak economic outlook for 2025 is a result of a lack of priorities, inadequate investment and production planning, and a "reckless" approach to governance. He said these failings have created widespread uncertainty, stagnation in economic activities, and significant concerns across all sectors, from industrialists to small businesses. He also highlighted the dire conditions for private sector employees, exacerbated by insufficient oversight and a lack of organization.
Reflecting on the protest, Akansoy stated, "The voices raised in front of Parliament today are crucial. Whether the government will hear them, I am uncertain. However, if the political institution cannot resolve the people's problems, re-establishing the people's will becomes inevitable. The solution is early elections!"
