Harmancı: Presidential Election is a Pivotal Moment for Turkish Cypriots

He highlighted the importance of the election, particularly the political shift in the region, and stated that the decision on whether the elected President would embrace a peace-driven approach or escalate tensions would be pivotal.

Harmancı underscored the necessity for political parties to determine whether they could unite around a common program, stressing that personal egos and interests should be set aside in favor of prioritizing the future of the country. He added that if an agreement on a joint program could not be reached, each party should present its own agenda to the public for debate.

Speaking on the "News and Beyond" program on Haber Kıbrıs, Harmancı referred to the 2020 Presidential Election and called for a reassessment of that process. He emphasized the importance of adopting a stance beyond political competition, advocating for a sense of responsibility during this period.

As the LTB Mayor, Harmancı affirmed that his primary responsibility is to provide the best municipal services. He concluded, "The Presidential Election is an undeniable threshold for Turkish Cypriots. In this regard, I would prefer to contribute to the creation of a healthy election environment."
