Careless Driver Causes Collision, Three Injured
A traffic accident occurred today at around 4:00 PM at the first junction in Geçitkale, resulting in three people being injured.
According to the police statement, Meryem Memiş (40) was driving a CD 475-registered sedan in the direction of Geçitkale from İskele. She made a careless right turn, blocking the path of another vehicle driven by Buğra Esendağ (37) on the main road, who was traveling in the opposite direction towards İskele in a KB 101-registered sedan. The vehicles collided as a result.
The impact caused the KB 101 vehicle to veer off the road and crash into an electric pole with its left rear side.
Both drivers, as well as Himmet Tosun (17), a passenger in the CD 475-registered car, were taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
