Manavoğlu: I Consider Myself Qualified for the Presidency
Former MP Gülşah Sanver Manavoğlu, speaking on Kıbrıs Postası TV, addressed her potential candidacy for the presidency, stating, "I don't know if I will run for office at the moment, but I can say this: I would definitely do a good job, I consider myself qualified." Manavoğlu emphasized that the country needs a president who understands everyone, does not polarize or divide, respects all ideologies, and can discuss issues when necessary.
Responding to the question, "Do you have any thoughts about running for the presidency?" Manavoğlu said, "I don't know if I will run for office at the moment, but I can say this: I would definitely do a good job, I consider myself qualified."
Manavoğlu, who appeared on the "Ulaş Barış ile Gündem" program, hosted by Ulaş Barış on Kıbrıs Postası TV, answered questions directed at her.
"A President from Within a Party is Not Neutral"
Reflecting on her political career, Manavoğlu stated that she does not believe a president emerging from within a party can be neutral.
She pointed out that political parties create a toxic environment through the presidential election, saying, "Everyone forms alliances with each other, and the distribution of employment and benefits begins."
Manavoğlu noted that the country is very tired of such situations and emphasized the need for an independent candidate who, even if supported by parties, is not from a party.
Manavoğlu expressed that what the country needs is a leader who understands everyone, respects ideologies, and can sit down and talk.
