1,444 Drivers Reported in Nationwide Traffic Inspections

A total of 1,444 drivers were reported, and 22 vehicles were taken off the road during nationwide traffic inspections conducted yesterday.

According to the Traffic Department of the Police General Directorate, officers carried out inspections across the country, resulting in legal action against 274 drivers for various traffic offenses. Additionally, 22 vehicles were removed from traffic.
Speeding was once again the most common violation, followed by mobile phone use while driving.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the reported traffic offenses were as follows:
- 159 for exceeding the legal speed limit
- 12 for driving without a valid registration
- 10 for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 6 for failing to wear a seatbelt
- 4 for driving without a valid inspection
- 3 for driving without a license or insurance
- 12 for using a mobile phone while driving
- 12 for ignoring traffic signs and signals
- 56 for other traffic offenses
Traffic inspections are expected to continue as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety.
