According to Fileleftheros, Guterres aims to ensure that the process continues beyond the upcoming meeting in Switzerland. The newspaper, citing its sources, noted that the UN chief has been focusing on the Cyprus issue in his discussions with foreign officials, including a recent meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister.

Diplomatic sources reportedly told the newspaper that Guterres sees a possibility for some progress in Geneva, although he does not believe any decisive steps have been taken so far. Nevertheless, both he and his team are exploring ways to move the process forward.

The report suggests that the UN is actively working on this issue, and Guterres hopes to avoid a deadlock by achieving at least a small breakthrough to keep the process going.
