Yalınkaya: “We Oppose the Imposition of Political Islam Through Education!”
Municipal Workers’ Union (BES) President Mustafa Yalınkaya voiced support for the teachers’ unions’ protest, emphasizing their opposition to the imposition of political Islam through the education system.
In his statement, Yalınkaya declared, “As a society that has fought for freedom for years, we know that freedom does not mean young girls having their heads covered against their own will.”
Arguing that the ideology of political Islam in the Middle East is being imported into the country through schools and children, Yalınkaya expressed solidarity with the teachers’ unions resisting this influence.
“Everyone has the right to dress as they wish and believe in whatever they choose. In this country, there is freedom of religion, worship, and expression. Our culture does not tolerate discrimination, marginalization, or exclusion based on beliefs or opinions,” he stated.
