According to information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası, the possibility of Holguin returning to her previous role was brought to the table, and both President Tatar and Turkey have endorsed the proposal.

However, the Greek Cypriot press presents conflicting claims on the matter. Some reports suggest that Holguin’s name has caused discomfort in the Nikos Christodoulides camp, while others argue that no specific name was discussed during the expanded meeting held in Geneva.

Meanwhile, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides previously claimed in an interview with Euronews that President Tatar opposed the appointment of an envoy. These developments raise further questions about whether a new phase in the Cyprus negotiations is about to begin.
