TRNC and Turkey Strengthen Efforts Against Irregular Migration with New Centers and Vehicles

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel held a significant meeting in Ankara with Turkey’s Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, during which key decisions were made to enhance cooperation on irregular migration, security, and the acceleration of migration center operations.

As part of his official visit to Ankara, Üstel was received with an official ceremony at the Turkish Ministry of Interior, where he inspected the honor guard. Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu also attended the meeting.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the TRNC and Turkey, particularly in the fields of security and combating irregular migration. One of the main topics on the agenda was the enhancement of the TRNC’s migration center to ensure its full operational capacity.

It was decided that procedures for the migration center would be expedited to ensure it operates at maximum efficiency. Additionally, to improve on-the-ground monitoring, migration control vehicles will be deployed to every district, increasing enforcement capacity and optimizing the system’s effectiveness.

The modernization and reinforcement of the TRNC police and fire department vehicle fleets were also discussed, with plans for new equipment procurement and technical improvements.

Prime Minister Üstel’s meetings in Ankara marked a significant step in strengthening cooperation between the TRNC and Turkey, particularly in security and migration management.
