Five More Days in Custody for Assault Suspects

The two suspects, Ibrahim Naser and Hussien Ali, accused of assaulting an individual with a stick on Sht. Caner Gönyeli Street in Gönyeli, have been ordered to remain in custody for an additional five days.

The police have indicated that after reviewing additional CCTV footage, further suspects and charges may be identified.
The suspects were brought back to court and the judge issued an order for their continued detention. Police officer, who presented the facts to the court, confirmed that the suspects were arrested on charges of causing grievous bodily harm.
On April 1, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Naser and Ali reportedly attacked Ali Alahy Ane, striking him with wooden sticks without provocation, resulting in a broken spine and significant injuries. Both suspects were arrested on the same day.
The victim identified both suspects at the police station. Police later revealed that during the investigation, CCTV footage was reviewed, showing the suspects, who admitted to the assault when questioned.
Through their testimony and further investigation, three more individuals connected to the incident were identified. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing, with additional CCTV footage to be examined, and that further suspects may be apprehended.
The suspects’ lawyer claimed that their clients were attacked by 10-15 individuals, and that the windows of their vehicle were broken. In response, police noted that new suspects and charges could arise from the ongoing review of the footage.
Judge Nuray Necdet, after considering the evidence, ordered that the suspects remain in custody for an additional five days.
